HP has dabbled in PC gaming hardware over the years, but lately, the company hasn't really been known for its enthusiast builds. HP aims to change that with its Omen X gaming desktop, which starts at $1,799.99.

In case you couldn't tell from the picture above, the PC is cube-shaped and has front-facing LEDs, but what arguably makes it more unique is that it's tilted on its side.

You can purchase the chassis itself, but it will cost you a staggering $600. While HP admits that it does cost a pretty penny, the company asserts that a lot of the cost is due to R&D.

The front-facing LEDs also support RGB lighting, which can be customized via software. Here we see it transitioning from red to purple. While the Omen X will use a MicroATX motherboard, it's chassis is quite large. Here is a normal-sized bottle of water for comparison.

Taking off the top-left side panel of the case reveals the motherboard. HP asserts that the unique angle of the chassis allows you to more easily service the PC.

This particular configuration uses a quad-core Skylake processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and two AMD Fury X GPUs. Nvidia configurations will also be available. This build also uses a 12cm intake fan at the bottom right-hand corner and supports three 12cm fans at the top. The PC will also support X99 configurations and has enough room for full-sized graphics cards.

The right side of the case has pullouts for four storage drives. You can mount either SSDs or HDDs in them.

You can remove the faceplate for the bottom bay, which allows you to access the PSU.

Using HP's software, you can customize the Omen X's LEDs to change color depending on how hot the PC gets. For instance, you can set it to light blue when the PC is cold and red when it gets hot.

In addition to the Omen X, HP also showed off its VR backpack. HP is marketing this for both consumer and professional use, asserting that we could see it in VR arcades. It's surprisingly lightweight, and has extra hot-swappable battery packs. Unfortunately, HP isn't specifying what specs you'll find in the pack, other than the fact that it will use a quad-core Intel CPU.

Here's what it looks like viewed from the front. It features both chest and waist straps (The chest strap on this particularly unit broke after some wear and tear). It's also worth noting that this is a prototype pack, so build quality could improve with the retail release. Unfortunately, HP hasn't yet announced a release date for the device.

When you don't want to use it as a VR backpack, you can simply remove the straps and use it as a standalone desktop PC.

Narcos - Season 2

Narcos, the series following the life and times of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar (Wagner Moura), returns to Netflix on Friday, September 2. Season 1 followed Escobar's rise to power as well as a couple of DEA agents (Boyd Holbrook and Pedro Pascal) who are on the druglord's tail. Now, Escobar has escaped from prison, and the hunt is back on. The trailer for this new season looks intense.

American Horror Story - Season 6

What's great about FX's American Horror Story is that each season is a standalone piece, so when season 6 rolls around on Wednesday, September 14, anyone can jump onto the show. Per usual, the promos for the newest season of the horror anthology reveal very little about the actual season.

Gotham - Season 3

The second season of Fox's Gotham was a bit out there and over-the-top. However, viewers got to see iconic Batman villains like Mr. Freeze and Hugo Strange. Fox released a trailer at San Diego Comic-Con catching fans up on the second season. It gave them a glimpse into the season 3, which starts Monday, September 19. The group the Court of Owls, which secretly controls the city, will be making their way from the comic page to the small screen.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Season 4

Fox's hilarious show about a police department in Brooklyn returns for a fourth season on Tuesday, September 20. As of yet, there have been no trailers and not a lot of information, but the show has been on a roll as one of the funnier comedies currently on television.

Agents of SHIELD - Season 4

Agents of SHIELD made the news back at San Diego Comic-Con when it was announced that season 4 of the ABC series will feature the Marvel character Ghost Rider. Premiering on Tuesday, September 20, Agents of SHIELD will continue to expand the Marvel Cinematic Universe with this major addition.

The Exorcist

One of the scariest horror films of all time is getting its own television series on Fox. Starting on Sunday, September 23, The Exorcist hopes to frighten the masses just like the 1973 film of the same name. The trailer, which debuted at this year's Comic-Con, was pretty disturbing and looks like it's hitting the tones of the original film.

Van Helsing

Syfy is flipping the tale of Van Helsing and setting it in the modern era. The network has been on a roll the past year with shows like The Expanse and The Magicians, breathing new life into the channel. Van Helsing looks action-packed and fun. If you're looking for a show that has someone killing vampires over and over again, this new series may be up your alley. It debuts on Sunday, September 23.

Son of Zorn

One of the most bizarre shows debuting this fall is Son of Zorn. It's He-Man, in the real world, trying to raise his non-animated son. The trailer for the upcoming show, debuting on Sunday, September 11, is hilarious on its own. It looks so weird that it might just work, especially since Fox has a knack for developing solid half-hour comedies.

Channel Zero

On Tuesday, September 27, Syfy plans on haunting your dreams with Channel Zero. Each season will be a self-contained story, with the first being an adaptation of Kris Straub's Creepypasta story Candle Cove, which is about an '80s children's television show that is connected to a group of murders. The promos for the show are disturbing.

Drunk History - Season 4

Drunk History returns for a fourth season on Tuesday, September 27, to Comedy Central. The show recounts moments in history as told by comedians who are drunk. The show takes the narration from the drunk and reenacts each scene with well-known comedic actors. The trailer for the upcoming season is just as ridiculous as you'd think.

Luke Cage

Netflix has another Marvel superhero show debuting on Friday, September 30. This time, Luke Cage--who appeared previously in the Jessica Jones series--fights crime on the streets of New York City. He's super-strong and seemingly invulnerable, so he'll be quite the hero to handle. Plus, the show has an awesome soundtrack.

Ash vs The Evil Dead - Season 2

If you're in the mood for a show that covers its cast in gallons, upon gallons, of fake blood, then look no further than Ash vs The Evil Dead. Season 2 premieres on Sunday, October 2, on Starz. Ash and his group of friends will once again be looking to stop evil from taking over the world, and they won't even have time to properly party according to the latest trailer.

Westworld

Based on the Michael Crichton film from 1973, HBO's Westworld takes place in a futuristic theme park where you can be whatever you want to be. The show has an all-star cast, and as seen in the trailer, there's a lot of eerie undertones. Westworld debuts on Sunday, October 2.

The Flash - Season 3

Season two of CW's The Flash ended in a way that closely followed the comic story Flashpoint. Season 3 will explore a present day that was changed because of The Flash's actions in the past. You can expect more villains, more twists and turns, and even more speedsters in this next season, which starts on Tuesday, October 4.

Supergirl - Season 2

Season 2 of Supergirl will be right at home with the rest of the DC heroes at the CW. We already know that Superman is going to be a part of the next installment of the show. We haven't seen much about the new season as of yet, but if it's anything like the other DC shows on the CW, it should be great. Supergirl returns on Monday, October 10.

Legends of Tomorrow - Season 2

At the end of season 1 of Legends of Tomorrow, the show introduced the idea of the Justice Society of America, a superhero team from the DC comic universe. Comic-Con gave fans a look at the upcoming season, which looks action-packed. It also features Neal McDonough returning as Damien Darhk, from Arrow. Legends of Tomorrow returns on Thursday, October 13.

Black Mirror - Season 3

Black Mirror comes back to Netflix for a third season. Creator Charlie Brooker takes a look at modern society and spins it into a sci-fi series with a Twilight Zone feel. This upcoming third season consists of 12 episodes, and this will be the first season that will premiere on Netflix first, as previous seasons aired on UK's Channel 4. The first six episodes of this season will be released on October 21.

The Walking Dead - Season 7

Looks like we'll be finally learning who Negan killed on season 6's finale of The Walking Dead. The AMC series had people talking all summer about who it could be, and it all should be answered on Sunday, October 23. In addition, the series added Khary Payton as the well-loved comic character Ezekiel, who will have a pet tiger in the upcoming season. Check out a sneak peek at the upcoming season.
