Royal Rumble: Every Confirmed Entrant In The Main Event

Posted: 26 Jan 2017 08:46 AM PST

The Royal Rumble is coming to the WWE Network and PPV on Sunday, January 29, and the most exciting part of the event is the titular Royal Rumble match. 30 superstars will compete, but who are the confirmed wrestlers for this event? There will obviously be a few surprises along the way, but here are all the confirmed stars for the Royal Rumble match, in alphabetical order.

Check out the rest of the card and predictions for the show here, as well as predictions for the Rumble match itself from the GameSpot staff. In addition, check out our list of surprise entrants we'd love to see for this year's event.

Baron Corbin

The winner of the 2016 Andre the Giant Battle Royal, Baron Corbin, will enter this year's Rumble, but we don't think he has a huge chance of winning. If he does, it will be a huge surprise for everyone.

Chance of Winning: Slim to none

Big Cass

A member of one of the most entertaining tag teams on Raw, Big Cass hopes to make a splash at the Rumble. While there have been rumors of Cass going solo for months, we don't think this is where he'll get his big push.

Chance of winning: Slim to none

Big E

Big E, one of the members of the New Day, will be involved in the Rumble, but we're thinking he has almost no chance to win this match, as cool as the idea may be.

Chance of winning: Slim to none

Big Show

The third "Big" contender in this year's Rumble is the Big Show. He has a low chance of winning, and we think he's in the Rumble to help build a Wrestlemania match against Shaquille O'Neal. Read more about that here.

Chances of winning: Low

Braun Strowman

There have been quite a few rumors that this is the year that Braun Strowman will win the Universal Championship. This could be the start of that journey, as he's been incredibly dominant on Raw.

Chance of winning: High

Bray Wyatt

It finally feels like Bray Wyatt is back on track. Wyatt winning the whole Rumble doesn't seem completely plausible, at first. He is having a resurgence, and out of everyone at Smackdown, he seems like he has the highest chance of winning, as long as Luke Harper doesn't get in the way.

Chance of winning: High

Brock Lesnar

There are a lot of people saying that Lesnar is going to win the Rumble this year. However, we're not thinking the same. The Royal Rumble is the start of the road to Wrestlemania, and what fans want to see is a rematch between Goldberg and Lesnar. While we're sure to see them both in the ring at the same time at the Rumble, having the two fight again at Wrestlemania makes more sense than having Lesnar win, going onto the biggest PPV of the year to fight the champion. That being said, there's still a decent chance he could take it.

Chance of winning: Moderate

Cesaro

Cesaro is one-half of the current Raw Tag Team Champions. He's great in the ring and one hell of an entertainer, but we do not see him winning this match.

Chance of winning: None

Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens are wonderful together. While Jericho already has a spot--in a shark cage hanging above the ring--in an earlier match, it's a bit of a surprise to see him involved in the Rumble. He's never won this match before, and he has a decent chance of winning, which will only further his storyline with Owens.

Chance of winning: Moderate (Mat Elfring's Pick)

Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose is already involved in a rivalry with the Miz, which is the highlight of the mid-card on Smackdown. While we can't completely count out Ambrose winning, his chances of winning are middle-of-the-road.

Chances of winning: Moderate

Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler recently turned heel again, and he's in the process of building on this new version of himself. We don't see him winning the Rumble, but it's not completely out of the question.

Chance of winning: Low

Goldberg

Goldberg has a decent chance of winning the Rumble, but as we mentioned earlier, we think he'll be facing Lesnar at Wrestlemania. While there are rumors that he could win, we think his chances are a bit lower.

Chance of winning: Moderate

Kofi Kingston

The only thing we can count on from Kofi Kingston is a cool, acrobatic moment during the Rumble. Sure, seeing Kingston win would be awesome, but we just don't see it happening.

Chance of winning: Slim to none (Greg Thomas's Pick)

Luke Harper

It's great to see Luke Harper back in action, but we just don't see him winning the Rumble. However, we do expect to see some progression in his story with Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. He may want revenge after being beaten by the two on a recent Smackdown.

Chance of Winning: Slim to none

The Miz

Much like the case with Dean Ambrose, we don't see the Miz winning, no matter how awesome he is. In fact, we see his chances even lower than those of Ambrose, with the hopes he wins his Intercontinental Championship back.

Chance of winning: Low

Mojo Rawley

Mojo Rawley is probably pretty hyped to be in the Rumble this year, but we don't see him winning. Here's another prediction: He will be eliminated by either the winner of the match or the person who gets the most eliminations.

Chance of winning: None

Randy Orton

The newest member of the Wyatt Family is having a bit of a resurgence in his career. We don't think he has a huge chance of winning this year, but it's not out of the question by any means. We could expect to see some conflict between Orton and Harper during the match.

Chance of winning: Moderate

Rusev

The mighty Rusev has been on a rollercoaster ride the past few months. While he could--eventually--win the Universal Championship later in the year, we don't think he's on that track just yet. However, we wouldn't say there's no way he's going to win the Rumble.

Chance of winning: Low

Sami Zayn

Normally, I'd toss Sami Zayn aside and say, "The WWE has no idea what to do with him, so there's no way he's going to win." However, his current storyline makes it seem like the company is trying to bury him. That being said, we think he's got a big push coming his way, and the Rumble could be the start of it.

Chance of winning: Moderate to high

Sheamus

Much like Cesaro, we don't see Sheamus winning the Rumble at all.

Chance of winning: None

The Undertaker

There's been a lot of speculation surrounding The Undertaker and his involvement in the Rumble. Some people think he's going to win and have his final match at this year's Wrestlemania. We're not all-in on Taker winning the Rumble this year, but it's a strong possibility.

Chance of winning: Moderate to High

Xavier Woods

Finally, there's Xavier Woods, the entertaining mouthpiece of the New Day. As much as we love him, he has no chance of winning.

Chance of winning: None

See What Hideo Kojima's New Studio Looks Like

Posted: 26 Jan 2017 06:01 AM PST

Following his departure from Konami, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima established a new studio called Kojima Productions. While it's common to hear about the people working at studios and the games they're working on, we rarely get an inside look at the space they create within, even moreso for Japanese companies. However, the Kojima Productions website has now updated to include a number of images of its brand-new development space, and it's quite impressive.

Key artwork from Death Stranding and the studio's mascot, Ludens, is prominently displayed.

In an interview with IGN, Kojima said he wanted a space where developers could gather and casually discuss their ideas and progress.

This type of relaxed atmosphere was, according to Kojima, inspired by LittleBigPlanet developer Media Molecule's studio, which he described as feeling like a club.

There are around 100 developers working at Kojima Productions; they're going to need more chairs.

The artwork of actors Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus, who are both in Death Stranding, can be seen in the background.

Kojima said he hired people with experience in a range of disciplines, not just game development. The development staff includes people that have done 3D modelling for movies and also those that can build impressive camera rigs such as the one seen here.

Death Stranding may not be out yet, but it's already winning awards.

Kojima has said that 2001: A Space Odyssey is one of his favourite films of all time and this slick white hallway looks to be inspired somewhat by the movie.
